Royal Enfield has finally launched the Classic 350 ABS in India. The bike now gets a dual-channel ABS unit and retails at Rs 1,53,245; an increase of Rs 5,800 over the non-ABS version which retailed at Rs 1,47,464. (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
With the introduction of ABS for the standard Classic 350, Royal Enfield’s entire Classic 350 line-up which includes the Redditch edition, Gunmetal Grey and Signals edition has been updated with the safety feature. Besides the ABS unit, the Classic 350 remains the same. It is powered by a 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 19.8bhp at 5250rpm and 28Nm of torque at 4000rpm and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The Classic 350 ABS drops anchor using a 280mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc with a dual-channel ABS unit. Meanwhile telescopic front forks and twin shocks at the rear take care of suspension duties.
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 ABS may not have any direct rivals, but it does face competition from the Bajaj Dominar 400 and the UM Renegade Classic in India.
