- New Royal Enfield Classic spied testing in Chennai
- Sports a few cosmetic and mechanical upgrades
- Likely to be launched in the coming months
A new Royal Enfield Classic motorcycle has been spied on test in Chennai.
While only the rear of the motorcycle can be seen in the spy images, it reveals quite a few updates that the Classic range is about to recieve. The most prominent update is the rear tail lamp unit which is now more cylindrical and sports a chrome bezel lending an old-school appeal. The updated Royal Enfield Classic is also likely to recieve a new seat with better cushioning both for the rider and pillion, flat-foot pegs and chrome bar ends. Furthermore, the test mule was sporting the rear disc on the right side along with a redesigned swingarm. The air-filter box too seems to be reworked and the exhaust now looks a tad stubby at the end.
Royal Enfield is also likely working on the engines of the two Classic motorcycles; the Classic 350 and Classic 500. While there is no word from Royal Enfield, we can expect the updated Classic to be launched in the coming months. Not only will this refresh the brand but also awaken sales of the motorcycle which has seen a consistent drop in numbers in the last few months.
