- Storm 125 to be priced at RS 65,000
- It’s a stylish version of the SR 125
- Will be available in three colours
Piaggio will finally launch the Aprilia Storm 125 in India in the next few days. This 125cc scooter will be priced at Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom all India).
The bookings for the SR 125 Storm will begin soon, with deliveries expected to commence in the first week of May. The company wanted to keep the on-road pricing of this scooter under Rs 80,000, as it is looking to gain good volumes.
The Storm is a variant of the SR125 with cosmetic changes. It gets matte-finish colours with different decals, different wheels, and tyres that are ever so slightly off-road biased. It helps to give it a butch character. In essence, the Storm is targeted more towards the male audience where the appeal of the regular SR125 is universal.
The Storm 125 gets its power from a 9.5bhp 125cc single-cylinder motor. This motor churns out a peak torque of 8.2Nm, transferring power to the rear wheel via a CVT gearbox. Like the SR150, the SR125 is built on a tubular steel frame. A telescopic fork at the front and a single coil spring at the rear makes up for suspension duties while braking is done by a 220mm disc at the front and a 140mm drum at the rear. It shares the all-analogue instrumentation with the regular SR125.
The Storm 125 will be sold in three colours and yellow is one of them. Each of these variants will also get some bold graphics to attract the male audience.
