- Featured new red and silver shades
- Currently available in aurora green and vine black
Bajaj launched the 2019 Dominar 400 in India in the first week of this month. While the new edition received significant improvements in terms of engine and cycle parts, it was introduced only in two colour schemes – aurora green and vine black. The previous-gen model, on the other hand, was available in four colour options. To keep things going for the 2019 model, Bajaj has revealed the cruiser in two new shades of red and silver in a recent commercial.
In the video, the Dominar 400 can be seen undergoing wind tunnel testing while also being ridden on city roads and through a forest. Interestingly, the featured motorcycles don’t bear Indian registration numbers indicating that the video might have been shot outside the country. This makes it uncertain when the manufacturer will launch these shades in India. However, depending on the demand, Bajaj will surely bring the red and silver colour schemes sooner or later.
The 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 is powered by a 373.3cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which comes mated to a six-speed gearbox, assisted by a slipper clutch. The engine now gets DOHC configuration and churns out 39.4bhp and 35Nm. The 2019 version is suspended on upside down forks up front, as opposed to the telescopic units on the previous model, while the rear continues to get multi-step adjustable monoshock. Braking duties are handled by a 320mm single disc with radial caliper at the front and a 230mm disc with single-piston caliper at the back. Dual channel ABS comes as standard.
Bajaj has priced the 2019 Dominar 400 at Rs 1.73 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Considering this pricing, it goes up against the Royal Enfield Himalayan, Royal Enfield Classic 500 and the KTM 250 Duke.
