- Naked Panigale V4R spotted at a track day
- Could be a prototype
- Will participate at 2019 Pikes Peak
We all know that Ducati is developing a naked version of its flagship bike, the Panigale V4R, thanks to the company’s CEO who hinted at it early this year. Now, it looks like the company is ready to take things public, as two naked versions of the Panigale V4R have been captured on camera.
According to a report, these bikes are being readied for the 2019 Pikes Peak and one of it will be ridden by Carlin Dunne. Our sources spotted one of these bikes being ridden by Dunne at a track day. These bikes could either be a stripped down version of the Panigale V4R, or prototypes of the upcoming naked Ducati. It’s quite difficult to tell as of now, but a close look at these bikes sure do reveal a few details.
The bikes have been fitted with a handlebar that is attached to a triple clamp. Usage of superbikes or bikes with a single-piece handlebar are banned from Pikes Peak. However, the exhibition class provides a bit of flexibility. Interestingly, while registering for the 2019 Pikes Peak last year, Ducati had made one entry which said 2019 Ducati TBD. This makes us believe that a naked V4 prototype is likely to be seen at this year’s Pikes Peak.
