The Bajaj Avenger Street 160 ABS has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 81,037 (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The motorcycle costs around Rs 7,000 lesser than the Avenger Street 180 it replaces. In terms of design, the Avenger Street 160 ABS is identical to the latter so it gets a straight handlebar, an oblong headlamp with LED DRL, single-piece seat and blacked-out components. The analogue instrument cluster is also similar on the Avenger Street 180.
The Avenger Street 160 is powered by a 160cc, single-cylinder, and two-valve engine with a carburetted fuelling system. This oil-cooled motor produces 15.3bhp of power and 14.6Nm of torque; a figure higher than that of the Avenger 180. Braking is done by discs at both ends with a single-channel ABS. Meanwhile, suspension hardware consists of telescopic forks upfront and a dual-shock setup at the rear.
While the bookings for the Avenger Street 160 ABS are open, few dealers have also commenced deliveries for the motorcycle. It is available in two colour options- black and red. In terms of rivals, the Bajaj Avenger Street 160 goes against the Suzuki Intruder in the country.
