- It will soon replace the Avenger 180
- Gets single-channel ABS as standard
- Is around Rs 5000 cheaper than the Avenger 180
Bajaj has officially launched its new cruiser, the Avenger Street 160 ABS in India. The motorcycle has been priced at Rs 82,253 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new Avenger Street 160 ABS will replace the Avenger Street 180 which will be discontinued soon. While the former retains most of the components from the latter, the biggest change has been made to the engine. The motorcycle is powered by a 160.4cc, air-cooled motor which produces 14.8bhp at 8500rpm and 13.5Nm at 7000rpm. The powerplant comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.
In terms of looks, the Avenger Street 160 boasts of a modern cruiser design with an oval-shaped headlamp which houses LED DRLs while the blacked out components such as engine and alloy wheels give it a snazzy appeal. The semi-analogue instrument cluster has also been carried forward from the Street 180. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. While braking is handled by a 260mm disc up front and a 130mm drum at the rear, it is assisted by a single-channel ABS which comes as standard.
Bajaj has introduced the Avenger Street 160 ABS in two colour options – Ebony Black and Spicy Red. The motorcycle locks horns with the Suzuki Intruder 150 in India.
