Next-gen Royal Enfield Classic spotted testing once again

- The bike was spotted for the third time

- Was equipped with RE’s official touring accessories

- Will get upgraded cycle parts and perhaps a BS-VI compliant engine

The next-generation Royal Enfield Classic motorcycle was spotted testing in Chennai once again. Similar to the previously spied mule, this bike carried a few distinctions over the outgoing Classic model while it was also equipped with the company’s official touring accessories.

The newly spied motorcycle was majorly similar to the one we spotted earlier with the only noticeable difference being around the tail section. The cylindrical panel around the tail lamp was blacked out this time, unlike the chrome-finished panel we noticed in the previous motorcycle. The retro styling of the Classic will be retained with a heavy use of chrome on several components. However, it seems to have been equipped with a new seat for better comfort along with flat foot pegs. While the air-filter box and the exhaust also appear to be slightly redesigned, the placement of the front and rear disc have been changed which now sit on the right side. 

As for the touring accessories, the company is apparently testing the motorcycle’s performance while being equipped with saddle bags, Thunderbird-like pillion back rest and a tall windscreen. The engines of the upcoming RE bikes are likely to be compliant with the BS VI emission norms which will be effective from April 2020. 

Besides the highly-popular Classic, the next-generation Thunderbird was also spied before and both the models are likely to be launched in the coming months. Looking at the upgrades the bikes will receive, we expect them to receive a mild price hike over the currently-sold models.
