The Indian adventure motorcycle fraternity has a reason to rejoice. KTM has finally confirmed the 390 Adventure will launch in India in 2019. This was quite a surprising announcement as the Austrian maker is yet to reveal the motorcycle even in concept form. But there’s a reason the Pune-based manufacturer decided to reveal this information now – the imminent launch of the BMW G310GS. While 2019 is still a few months away, allow us to tell you about the four bikes that will compete with the KTM 390 Adventure when it is launched
1: Royal Enfield Himalayan
The Himalayan was the first affordable adventure motorcycle that landed on Indian shores. The bike has the capability and the ability to take the rider to unknown terrains. But a slightly more powerful engine and better quality would have made this Royal Enfield the perfect small adventure bike to own.
2: BMW G310GS
The G310GS is probably the second most awaited adventure bike after the KTM 390 Adventure. But this bike which is expected to be positioned as a premium bike might be plagued with an expensive price tag. This aspect could be a deal breaker. Plus, the bike is available only in alloy-wheel version, making it more of a tourer than an adventure bike.
3: Kawasaki Versys-X 300
The Versys-X 300 is the only twin-cylinder motorcycle in the entry-level adventure bike segment. This bike is known for its capability, and also for its expensive price tag. As a result, this Kawasaki is not moving from the showrooms as the company expected.
4: Hero XPulse
The XPulse isn’t really a big rival to the KTM 390 Adventure, but has the capabilities to take away a set of buyers away from the KTM. The XPulse will be priced really low, possibly around a lakh rupees and that will make it the perfect choice for riders who want to get into the world of adventure riding.
