4 things everyone should know about the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro

If you’re less than 6 feet tall, then don’t even consider buying the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro. This bike demands a really tall rider and someone who could manage to live with this 256kg heavyweight. This full-size adventure bike has been developed to take on the BMW R1200 GS and in order to do that, Ducati has outfitted it with some really good equipment, backed with interesting after-sales support.  Here’s four things we really like about what Ducati has to offer with the new Enduro.

1: Delivery of spares in just 48 hours

It is obvious that a Multistrada 1200 Enduro owner will take the bike places - especially places which are unexplored. And while negotiating these rough terrains, there are high chances of a fall which might damage the bike, however minor the accident may be. To make the owner’s life easy, Ducati offers a very useful service. The Italian maker has offered fast delivery of spares of the bike, within 48 hours of reporting the damage. Right now, this service is applicable to 85 per cent of the territories in which the company operates – that’s around 90 countries and 783 official service points.

2: Servicing

The Italian maker has worked really hard to keep the servicing needs of the Multistrada 1200 Enduro to a bare minimum. The oil service for this adventure bike comes for every 15,000kms ridden  and valve clearance service at an interval of 30,000kms.

3: Luggage pack

There are four luggage options – yep, that’s right. The Multistrada 1200 owner has the option to choose from four luggage options. The touring pack gets you heated grips, handlebar bag and aluminium panniers developed by Touratech. The Urban pack is more practical for city riding. So there’s a 45-litre aluminium top case, a compact tank bag and a USB port to charge smartphones. If the rider chooses the sport pack, he or she would get a Termignoni performance exhaust and billet aluminium for the brake fluid and clutch fluid reservoir caps. The Enduro pack consists of engine and radiator crash guards, oil radiator guard, sprocket cover and rear disc protector. This pack also includes the auxiliary LED lamps.

4: Vehicle Hold Control

This is something we usually see in cars, especially in the SUVs. This is useful when the bike comes to a standstill on a steep gradient. The system activates when the rider applies high brake pressure, either on the front brake or rear.  Depending on the brake pressure, the system applies pressure on the rear brake system by acting on the pump and the ABS control unit valves. This makes it easy for the rider to get off to a comfortable start. This system works in all ABS levels, except when the ABS is off.
