In order to make the scooter BS-VI compliant, Honda has upgraded the Activa 125's powertrain with components like fuel-canister, closed-loop catalytic converter, electronic fuel injection and Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The engine powering the scooter continues to be the 124cc air-cooled, single-cylinder motor with PGM-FI HET (Honda Eco Technology) and is further boosted by Honda Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) system. It gets a new semi-digital instrument console that displays information like real-time fuel efficiency, range and mileage apart from the standard bits like odometer, clock, ECO indicator and service due indicator. It also gets an malfunction lamp to alert the rider in case of any serious malfunction in the vehicle. The company has also introduced a new feature called Honda ACG Starter which cranks the motor with the same AC generator that generate electricity and charges the battery. This upgrade eliminates the need of an starter motor, thus cancelling any gear meshing noises.
For cycle parts, the scooter is suspended by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is done a disc brake up front and a drum at the rear. The scooter continues to ride on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels shod with 90/90-R12 and 90/100-R10 tyres, respectively.
