As for the pricing, the fully-faired bike is expected to be demand a premium of around Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 over the 125 Duke which costs Rs 1.30 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The KTM RC 125 is the fully-faired version of the 125 Duke naked bike which was launched in India in November last year. The motorcycle shares its styling with the RC 200 and the RC 390. It houses twin-LED projector headlamp along with LED DRLs while the sleek tail lamps are also LED units. The instrument cluster is a fully-digital setup which displays a host of information. To differentiate it from its bigger siblings, KTM will adorn the RC 125 with a fresh set of decals.
Powering the RC 125 is the same 124cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor which does duty on the 125 Duke. This mill churns out 14.3bhp of power and 12Nm of peak torque while it is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by upside down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. As for braking, it is equipped with a 300mm disc up front and a 230mm disc at the rear while a single-channel ABS and RLM (rear lift mitigation) will come as standard.
In terms of competition, the KTM RC 125 will locks horns with the Yamaha YZF R15 V3, considering the pricing it is expected to come with.
