-KTM RC 125 to be launched in coming weeks
-Likely to be priced around Rs 1.45 lakhs
-Bookings have already commenced
KTM recently teased the arrival of the RC 125. And while KTM hasn’t revealed the official pricing for the RC 125 yet, according to our sources, the motorcycle is likely to retail around Rs 1.45 lakhs, ex-showroom.
This pricing will put the KTM RC 125 in the vicinity of its biggest rival, the Yamaha YZF R15 V3 which retails at Rs 1.39 lakhs and also the Yamaha Fazer 25 that costs Rs 1.43 lakhs (both prices ex-showroom). The RC 125 will be positioned perfectly between the KTM 125 Duke (Rs 1.30 lakhs) and the 200 Duke (Rs 1.61 lakhs), completing the Austrian manufacturer’s sub-400cc line-up in India.
In terms of design, the RC 125 looks similar to the rest of the RC range, although with different sticker work to set it apart. Powering the motorcycle is the same 124cc, engine from its naked version, the 125 Duke. The motor produces 14.3bhp at 9,250rpm and 12Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. Besides the engine, it also uses the same suspension and braking hardware as the 125 Duke. So it gets inverted forks by WP Suspension and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is done by a 300mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc.
Subsequently, we also reported that dealerships have started accepting bookings for the RC 125 and deliveries are expected to begin as soon as the bike is launched here.
