Revolt Intellicorp, a Gurgaon-based start-up, has announced the launch of its first product in the Indian electric two-wheeler market. Christened the ‘RV400’, it is also India’s first AI-enabled motorcycle, according to the brand.
The motorcycle follows a street bike design featuring a muscular fuel tank casing, thus maintaining the basic design of a motorcycle. It also has tank extensions which give the electric bike a more aggressive stance. It has a one-piece seat ending with a petite tail section which is held together by a bolt-on sub-frame. The bike also gets a fairing that covers the swappable battery, motor and other components, thus giving it a flush and clean look. The design is replete with modern elements like an LED headlamp, tail lamp and other auxiliary lamps. It also features a fully digital instrument console and a push ignition button instead of a conventional key fob.
In terms of the powertrain, the Revolt hasn’t revealed the specs of the RV400. However, the company had earlier announced that, on a full charge, the electric motorcycle will be capable of returning a range of 156kms (as per ARAI tests) and achieve a top speed of 85kmph. Notably, the powertrain will come with three riding modes (Eco, City and Sport) and also get multiple artificial exhaust sounds (four in-built) as a feature which allows the rider to change the simulated audible exhaust note of the bike.
In order to address the limitation of charging infrastructure, Revolt is offering four charging options -- a portable charger, on-board charger, mobile swapping stations and ‘Delivery on Demand’ feature, wherein a user can have a charged battery delivered to their location. Besides that, a user will receive alerts about the nearest swapping station once the charge on the battery has reduced.
It also has a ‘Start Electric’ function through which the RV400 can be started via the app. In addition to that, the motorcycle also has a geo-fencing feature which allows the user to set a virtual geographic boundary, thus triggering a response when the motorcycle enters or leaves the perimeter.
For cycle parts, the RV400 is equipped with upside-down forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is done by disc brakes at both ends.
Pre-booking for the RV400 will commence from 26 June through the company’s official website and official online partner, Amazon India. The RV400 Will be offered in two colour options- Rebel Red and Cosmic Black. The company will be announcing the specs and pricing of the RV400 next month.
