- 2019 edition has been updated cosmetically and mechanically
- Surge in sales could be due to the initial hype
- Was launched at the beginning of April 2019
The Dominar 400 is Bajaj Auto’s flagship motorcycle and its 2019 edition was recently introduced in the market. Now, in the month since its launch, the motorcycle has registered a significant jump in sales by managing to sell 1,888 units in May compared to 1,191 units in the corresponding month last year, resulting in a 59 per cent growth.
For the 2019 edition, Bajaj Auto has updated the Dominar 400 with several new features on the cosmetic as well as on the mechanical front. In terms of design, the motorcycle has received subtle updates like a revised headlamp unit, more feature-loaded instrument console, secondary display on the fuel tank, cast aluminium stock for the side mirrors, forged side stand and a new twin barrel exhaust. It also gets two new colour shades.
On the mechanical front, the motorcycle continues to be powered by the same 373.3cc motor, but now gets a DOHC head configuration, resulting in a slight bump in peak power output. Besides that, the 2019 Dominar 400 is equipped with inverted forks along with a radial brake caliper for the front. The rest remains the same.
While the number of upgrades could be largely responsible for customers to consider purchasing the 2019 Dominar 400, the reason for the sale hike can also be attributed to the initial hype that is quite common when a new product and face-lifted model is introduced in the market. In the coming months, it will be clear whether the 2019 Dominar 400 manages to achieve a similar sales graph due to its upgrades or if it was an initial spike.
