- Multistrada 1260 Enduro priced at Rs 19.99 lakh
- Adventure version of the Multistrada 1260
- Competes against BMW R1250GS, Triumph Tiger 1200
Ducati’s flagship adventure bike, the Multistrada 1260 Enduro has been launched in India at Rs 19.99 lakh. While this pricing is for the Ducati Red colour variant, the company has also introduced a Sand paint scheme which costs Rs 20.23 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom, Pan India). This motorcycle replaces the Multistrada 1200 Enduro that was on sale in the country from 2017.
The Multistrada 1260 Enduro is based on the Multistrada 1260 but gets a host of changes and additions to make it more adventure and off-road friendly. To start with, the chassis has been reworked to be a bit stiffer. The center of gravity is lower as compared to its touring sibling. The fuel tank can carry a whopping 30-litres of fuel, making long distance riding a comfortable affair. Then there’s also the knuckle guards and redesigned engine guard. This Ducati rides on the 19-inch spoke wheel at the front and 17-inch and the rear. The weight of these wheels has been reduced by over 2kg. These wheels are shod with Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres.
The motor is the new 1262cc Testastretta DVT which pumps out 153bhp and 129Nm of peak torque. The motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox that also sports a quick-shifter. Just like the rest of the Ducatis, this one too is loaded with some top-spec electronics. So things like a Bluetooth-enabled five-inch TFT display, ride-by-wire throttle, quickshifter (up and down), cornering ABS, wheelie control, hill-start control and eight-level traction control are seen on the Multistrada 1260 Enduro. In terms of cycle parts, the Multistrada 1260 Enduro rides on semi-active Sachs suspension setup on both ends while braking is done by Brembo callipers for the front and rear.
The bookings have begun at all showrooms and the deliveries are expected to begin in the next few weeks. This Ducati goes against the Triumph Tiger 1200 and the BMW R1250GS.
