Harley Davidson's first electric motorcycle, the LiveWire is all set to make its India debut tomorrow, 27 August.
The LiveWire borrows the majority of its styling from the manufacturer’s Sportster range of motorcycles. It gets full-LED headlamp housed in a neatly-designed headlamp cowl, its tank is also reminiscent of Sportster motorcycles although every element under the tank shouts electric. To begin with, the LiveWire is built on a cast aluminium frame that houses the ‘Revelation’ motor which is the most powerful motor from Harley yet. It produces 103.5bhp and 116Nm of torque and comes with a belt final drive.
The Harley Davidson uses a 15.5kWh battery that is claimed to offer a range of 225km in the city, 113km on the highway and a cumulative range of 142km. Moreover, the LiveWire is equipped with a 4.3-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity that can display turn-by-turn navigation, location of the motorcycle and even set up a geo-fence. It also comes with a six-axis IMU, traction control and a Drag-Torque Slip Control to modulate torque at the wheel.
Harley-Davidson is offering the LiveWire in three colour schemes internationally- lime green, orange and black and is expected to do the same in India. While the bike will be unveiled tomorrow, we can expect it to be launched here by the end of this year.
