Revolt Motors has finally launched the RV400 in India. The standard version of the motorcycle is available at Rs 3,499 monthly instalment plan for 37 months and if bought in the premium guise, it is available at Rs 3,999 monthly EMI for the same period. Revolt has also launched a lower-spec RV300 which can be purchased at Rs 2,999 monthly instalment for a period of 37 months. With 37-month EMIs summed up together, the buyer ends up paying Rs 1.11 lakhs, Rs 1.29 lakhs and Rs 1.47 lakhs for the RV300, RV400 standard and the RV400 premium, respectively.
The RV400 is the country’s first AI-enabled electric motorcycle and comes powered by a 3KWh motor which produces 5kW of power and 50Nm of torque Providing juice to the bike is a 3kW lithium-ion battery which is claimed to be shock, drop and vibration tested. What's worth noticing is that the battery is being offered with unlimited kilometer warranty. The bike comes equipped with three modes- Eco, Normal and Sport. The Eco mode limits the speed to 45kmph, the City mode to 65kmph, while the Sport mode propels the bike to its top speed of 85kmph. However, the RV400 offers the maximum claimed range of 156km when ridden in Eco mode and a minimum of 90kms on Sport mode.
In terms of features, the RV400 is equipped with a full-digital instrument cluster and full-LED lighting for the headlamp, tail lamp and turn indicators. It also gets an app which can be used to start up the motorcycle, setup a geo-fence and also get notified if the battery charge is low. Moreover, the company is offering a ‘Delivery on Demand’ feature which enables the user to have a fully-charged battery delivered to their specified location. Apart from that, the Revolt is offering the RV400 with an onboard charger, portable battery charger and will soon setup battery swapping stations, to be known as Switch Stations. However, the most interesting features are the simulated exhaust notes which can be changed from the app and can also be switched on or off on-the-go.
The design of the RV400 is on the lines of street naked motorcycles. It gets a muscular tank and beefy tank extensions along with a fairing that covers components like the motor and battery. At the rear, it uses a bolt-on subframe with a one-piece seat. Braking is done by a single disc at both ends along with CBS. Suspension duties are handled by inverted forks up front and a monoshock at the rear.
Revolt is offering the RV400 in two colour schemes- black and a dual-tone paint of red and black. Bookings for the motorcycle have already commenced on the manufacturer’s website and deliveries will begin from September. Revolt has announced a five year/75,000km warranty and every-10,000km service interval for the RV400.
