- Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 and Street 220 receive a price hike of Rs 1197
- Avenger Street 160 has become more expensive by Rs 998
- Prices of the Bajaj Dominar 400 and Pulsar range have also increased
Bajaj Auto has increased the price of its cruiser line-up including the Avenger Street 220, Cruiser 220 and the Street 160, in India. Implemented from the start of this month, the price hike stands at Rs 1197 for the 220cc siblings and Rs 998 for the 160cc variant. Following the hike, the Avenger 220 Street and the 220 Cruise are retailed at Rs 105,088 and the Street 160 is now pegged at Rs 83,251.
Besides the Avenger models, Bajaj has significantly increased the price of its flagship motorcycle, the 2019 Dominar 400. Interestingly, this is the second time the motorcycle has received an increment in its pricing. Subsequently, the Chakan-based bikemaker has also revised the pricing of its entire Pulsar line-up. While a majority of these models have become costlier by around Rs 1000, the Pulsar 150 Classic and Neon have received a significant bump of Rs 4000. Notably, the reason for this hike is rationalisation of pricing by Bajaj.
The Bajaj Avenger Street 160 is the most affordable cruiser available in India, which replaced the 180cc version of the motorcycle. It is powered by a 160cc, air-cooled, carbureted motor which churns out 14.8bhp and 13.5Nm. On the other hand, the Avenger Cruise 220 and the Street 220 are powered by a higher-displacement 220cc engine which makes 19bhp and 17.5Nm. While the former is a retro-styled cruiser, the latter is its modern iteration.
