Idemitsu Honda Racing India team completed the Practice Sessions for Round 6 of the on-going Asia Road Racing Championship at the Sepang International Circuit on a positive note. With three practice sessions held today, the team riders managed to get a good result by clocking fast laps.
Rajiv Sethu has been competing in ARRC since three years but has only ridden at the Sepang circuit during Round 1 this year and today for Round 6. Despite the limited experience at this track compared to other riders on the grid, he managed to record a combined lap time of 2:27:781. Sethu managed to secure the 11th position among the 30 riders competing in the Asia Production 250 class.
Meanwhile, Idemitsu Honda Racing India team’s rookie rider Senthil Kumar seemed to be in his form as he managed to climb from the 17th position at the start of practice sessions to 14th by the end of Practice Session 3. The 18-year old rider mentioned that he is more confident with the motorcycle and hence was able to clock faster lap time. Senthil’s fastest lap time recorded was 2:29:724, which notably is only 3 seconds off the current fastest rider Piyawat Patoomyos from A.P. Honda Racing Thailand team. Furthermore, he also managed to seal the gap between him and his teammate by a good margin.
With the end of the Practice Sessions for Round 6, Rajiv looks forward to a strong chance to climb up in rankings considering the potential second round of RPM cut coming into play after tomorrow’s race. On this note, Idemitsu Honda Racing India team is aiming at a top 10 finish for Rajiv and a Top 15 finish for Senthil.
