- KTM 390 Adventure spied testing at night
- Official unveil at the 2019 EICMA show in Milan
- India launch in December
Following the slew of spy images emerging of the highly-anticipated KTM 390 Adventure in both internationally and India, the motorcycle has been spied on test yet again in the country, only this time being at night. The test mule of the upcoming adventure tourer was heavily camouflaged to hide the body lines. The test bike was also equipped with hard case panniers and top box similar to the ones spotted on a test mule spied internationally.
Now, after confirming with sources close the manufacturer, KTM will be finally unveiling the 390 Adventure at the upcoming 2019 EICMA event in Milan followed by its official launch in India in December. Notably, India will be the first market to receive the 390 Adventure owing to KTM’s production facilities in Chakan, Pune.
The KTM 390 Adventure, as the name suggests, will be an adventure touring version of the 390 Duke sold in India. The motorcycle will ride on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres. KTM will be initially offering the motorcycle with alloy wheels while a spoke-wheel version is likely to be offered later. Besides that, the motorcycle will have a higher ground clearance, more suspension travel at both ends and a relaxed riding posture.
Powering the 390 Adventure will be the same 373cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled that does duty on the 390 Duke. While the motor puts out 44bhp and 37Nm, expect it to be tweaked differently to the suit the characteristics of the 390 Adventure.
Once launched, the KTM 390 Adventure will compete against the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan, Kawasaki Versys-X 300 and BMW G310GS sold in India.
