TVS Apache RTR 200 4V gets Bluetooth-enabled SmartXonnect update; priced at Rs 1.14 lakhs

- TVS updates Apache RTR 200 4V with Bluetooth-enabled SmartXonnect function

- Compatible with both Android and iOS platforms.

- Gets navigation, race telemetry, tour mode, lean angle, crash and call/SMS notification functions

With Bluetooth connectivity becoming an important feature in modern two-wheelers, TVS Motor Company has updated its premium 200cc offering, the Apache RTR 200 4V with its Bluetooth-enabled SmartXonnect function. With the new feature, riders can now sync their smartphones (Android and iOS) through the dedicated app to receive a host of updates on the go. The newly added feature has resulted in a hike of the price which now stands at Rs 1.14 lakhs (ex-showroom) which is a premium of Rs 2,500 over the corresponding carburetted, dual-channel ABS version.

Under the new Bluetooth-enabled feature, once synced with the smartphone provides access to a host of new features that are also unique in its segment including Lean Angle Mode, Race Telemetry and Crash Alert. Notably, the Lean Angle Mode uses the gyroscopic sensor in the rider’s smartphone to record the rider’s lean-angle through corners which gets displayed on the instrument cluster. Next is the Race Telemetry function which records and summarises data gathered at the end of every race or ride. The Crash Alert system is a new safety feature which gets triggered when the system senses a fall. An alert of the same is sent within 180 seconds to the emergency contacts saved with the location of the fall. Besides that, the SmartXonnect system also displays turn-by-turn navigation updates and call/SMS notification. The system also comes with an information control switch that allows re-routing the navigation system to the closest fuel station (when the fuel tank hits reserve) and also for the nearest service station if needed.

Besides the Bluetooth update, the motorcycle remains the same. The only visible difference is the addition of a gold-finished racing chain, adding to the overall appeal of the motorcycle. TVS is offering the Bluetooth-enabled TVS Apache RTR 200 4V in two colour options of black and white. Deliveries of the new variant will commence later this month.
