- 2020 FZ, FZ-S power dropped to 12.2bhp
- BS-IV model makes 13bhp
- Launch next year
Just like all other two-wheeler manufacturer in the country, Yamaha too has readied its 2020 line-up of motorcycles. It’s one of the most successful brand – FZ will receive a facelift for BS-VI.
Now according to a leaked image, the technical specifications of the 2020 variant of the FZ and the FZ-S have been leaked online. While the dimensions of both the bikes haven’t changed, there’s a change in the power figures. The BS-VI variant will make around 12.2bhp of power, which is almost 1bhp less than the current BS-VI model. Unfortunately, the torque figure wasn’t leaked but we expect it to see a marginal drop there as well.
The FZ series have always been marketed and positioned as an entry-level premium motorcycles that’s all about styling and performance. However, it’s sad to see that Yamaha hasn’t worked on upgrading that engine for better performance. The BS3 FZ used to make about 13.8bhp. But since then, the power has gradually come down due to the new emissions.
We believe the 2020 variant of the FZ will hardly see any aesthetic changes as it was launched this year. But we won’t be surprised to see the upcoming FZ series in some fancy new paint scheme.
