- Suzuki reveals pricing of the 2020 V-Strom 1050 in the UK
- Standard variant costs £9,999 (Rs 9.31 lakhs) while XT costs £11,299 (Rs 10.52 lakhs)
- Demands a considerable premium over their predecessor
After unveiling the 2020 V-Strom 1050 at the 2019 EICMA, Suzuki has now revealed the pricing of the motorcycle in the UK. The ADV has been introduced in two variants – standard and XT which have been pegged at £9,999 (Rs 9.31 lakhs) and £11,299 (Rs 10.52 lakhs), respectively. On the other hand, the pricing of their predecessors, the V-Strom 1000 standard and XT, stand at £9,399 (Rs 8.75 lakhs) and £9,599 (Rs 8.94 lakhs), respectively.
Suzuki has comprehensively updated the V-Strom for 2020. Firstly, it is a major departure in terms of design with a more minimalistic and angular styling theme. With the design of the new V-Strom, the Japanese bike maker has paid homage to its iconic ADV of the olden times - the DR Big. The motorcycle has been updated on the feature front as well, with the new full-colour LCD display being a major addition. It also comes equipped with improved traction control system, three power modes and an ECU with a faster processor.
As for the more adventure-oriented XT trim, it gets plenty of additional elements over the standard model. The package includes adjustable windscreen, knuckle guards, wider footpegs, adjustable seat, 12 V charging socket, LED turn indicators and of course, the spoke wheels to take on a variety of terrains. Coming to the heart of the matter, the bike continues to be powered by a 1037cc, V-twin motor which produces marginally more power at 105bhp with slightly lesser torque at 100Nm. However, one big change is that this powerplant is now Euro 5-compliant.
In India, Suzuki’s portfolio consists of only the standard version of the V-Strom 1000 which costs Rs 13.45 lakhs (ex-showroom). For 2020, the company might bring both models which will be considerably pricier over the existing model.
