Yamaha FZ V3 BS6-What else can you buy?

Yamaha launched the BS6-compliant version of the FZ V3 in India at Rs 99,200 (ex-showroom). In and around that price range you can opt for six motorcycles. Here is what the list looks like-

TVS Apache RTR 160 4V

The Apache RTR 160 4V is the Yamaha FZ V3’s biggest rival and is priced at Rs 1,00,351. It gets an aggressive body language similar to that of its bigger sibling, the Apache RTR 200 4V. Under its sculpted bodywork, the bike uses a 159cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 16.1bhp of power and 14.8Nm of torque.  It comes with a LCD screen for instrumentation that is soon expected to come with Bluetooth connectivity.  Yamaha FZ V3 vs TVS Apache RTR 160 4V: Comparison Test

The Pulsar NS160 uses a 160cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 15.3bhp and 14.6Nm.

Suzuki Gixxer

Suzuki recently updated the Gixxer giving it a refreshed, cosmetic overhaul. The motorcycle sports a flat, full-LED headlamp, sculpted fuel tank and tank extensions along with a sharp tail section with a split-seat setup. It comes powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder engine that puts out 14.6bhp and 14Nm. Suzuki has priced the motorcycle at Rs 1,00,212.

Suzuki Intruder

If you want a cruiser-styled motorcycle, there is the Suzuki Intruder. Powered by the same 155cc engine as the Gixxer, the Intruder sports a design that seems to be inspired by the bigger Intruder M1800. It offers a relaxed riding position thanks to the forward set footpegs and sweptback handlebars. The Suzuki Intruder costs Rs 1.01 lakhs.

Bajaj Avenger Street 220

In a similar cruiser bodystyle you can have the Bajaj Avenger Street 220. The motorcycle features completely blacked-out components and a comfortable riding position. Bajaj has equipped the motorcycle with a 220cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine that churns out 19bhp and 17.5Nm. Bajaj has priced the Avenger Street 220 at Rs 1.05 lakhs.

Hero Xpulse 200

The Xpulse 200 gets round, full-LED headlamp, high mudguard, a long seat and a high-set exhaust. Moreover, it rides on spoke wheels that complete its off-road character. Powering the Xpulse 200 is a 199c, air-cooled engine that churns out 18.1bhp and 17.1Nm. We recently tested the Xpulse 200 at the 2019 BikeWale Off-Road Day. To see how it performed, click HERE
