- BS6 Hero Glamour spotted testing
- Gets redesigned body panels and a new instrument cluster
- Likely to demand a premium of around Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000 over the BS4 model
Hero MotoCorp has recently discontinued a few of its BS4 models with an aim to have a smooth transition to BS6. Also, the company has already launched its first BS6 motorcycle, the new Splendor iSmart. Following this, we might soon witness the brand launching the BS6 version of its premium commuter, the Glamour, as its spy shots have emerged on the internet.
The test mule sported camouflage on its entire bodywork, however, the images still reveal a few details about its styling. While the overall silhouette of the bike remains similar to the existing model, the company has redesigned the front section which comprises of a new bikini fairing. The fuel tank, under seat cowl and the rear cowl have been tweaked to look beefier now while the LED tail lamp is also a restyled unit. Moreover, the spy shots reveal a pair of new rear view mirrors with dual tone paint scheme along with a redesigned grab rail.
The new Glamour could also get a new fully-digital instrument cluster, a part of which can be seen on a closer look at the images. This won’t come as a surprise as its closest rival, the new BS6 Honda SP 125 too incorporates a comprehensive digital display. Now, the major change will be the introduction of a BS6-compliant fuel-injected motor. This updated mill could boast of different power figures from its BS4 counterpart which produces 11.5bhp and 11Nm from its 124.7cc, fuel-injected, air-cooled motor. In terms of cycle parts, the motorcycle seems to be equipped with the same telescopic forks up front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. However, Hero might tweak the same for a more comfortable ride while also adding a comfier seat.
Considering the test mule looks ready for production, it won’t be long before Hero launches the BS6 Glamour. As for the pricing, the new model is likely to demand a premium of around Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000 over the existing BS4 Glamour FI which retails at Rs 69,950 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
