Jawa has started accepting bookings for the BS6 version of the bobber-styled Perak through its official website. With the initial retail price at the time of unveiling was announced at Rs 1.89 lakhs, the final BS6 compliant version of the motorcycle has been launched at Rs 1.94 lakhs, both ex-showroom. As far as bookings are concerned, one can book the Perak by paying a minimum booking amount of Rs 10,000 which is refundable. The company will commence deliveries of the 2019 Jawa Perak from 2 April 2020.
In terms of design, the Perak offers a different form of styling compared to the Standard and the Forty-Two. Featuring a bobber-style theme, the Perak is available only with a single colour scheme of matte black, that is accompanied by a fat-wide handlebar design, floating seat, slash-cut exhausts and a low-slung profile. Furthermore, it gets a blacked-out treatment for components like the engine, gearbox, rims and other cycle parts.
Held by a double-cradle chassis, the Perak draws its power from a higher-displacement 334cc, the single-cylinder unit which is slightly larger than the other two models. The motor is capable of churning out 30bhp of max power and 31Nm of peak torque. The motorcycle is suspended by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. The Perak comes with slightly wider tyres of 100/90-R18 at the front and a 140/70-R17 at the rear. Braking is employed by disc brakes at both ends, equipped with dual-channel ABS.
While the Jawa Perak does not have any direct rival in the Indian two-wheeler market, the motorcycle competes against the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Benelli Imperiale 400.
