- New Suzuki Access 125 prices start at Rs 64,800
- Introduced in three standard and two special edition models
- Prices hiked by around Rs 6,000 over the BS4 version
Suzuki Motorcycle India has announced the commencement of sales along with the pricing of its first BS6-compliant two-wheeler, the new Access 125 which was unveiled in India last month. The Japanese bikemaker has introduced five variants of the scooter in total, including three standard and two special edition models.
The new Access starts at Rs 64,800 (drum, steel wheels) and goes up to Rs 66,800 (drum, alloy wheels) and Rs 67,800 (disc, alloy wheels). Notably, the latter two are available in Special Edition trims as well which cost Rs 68,500 and Rs 69,500, respectively. These variants have witnessed a hike of around Rs 6,000 over their respective BS4 counterparts.
While the new Access 125 remains unchanged in terms of aesthetics, the most important change has come in the form of a new BS6-compliant, fuel-injected motor. This engine churns out 8.5bhp and 10Nm, which is a marginal hike in power but a slight drop in torque figure.
The BS6 Access 125 has also received new features such as LED headlamp, an external fuel filler cap, USB charging socket (standard in special edition models) and a voltage meter for indicating battery condition. It also gets an Eco Assist Illumination function comprising of a green light when the scooter is ridden in a fuel-efficient manner. Furthermore, Suzuki has also increased the seat length and floorboard size of the new Access.
In terms of competition, the new Suzuki Access 125 goes up against the new Honda Activa 125 FI and the Yamaha Fascino 125.
