- Bajaj Chetak electric scooter price unveil on 14 January

Bajaj is scheduled to launch the Chetak in India on 14 January. The company’s first electric scooter is expected to be priced between Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakhs in the country.
The Chetak sports a classic retro styling with smooth lines flowing all through its bodywork. The round headlamp further adds to its retro appeal however, the full-LED lighting lends a modern twist. Furthermore, Bajaj has equipped the scooter with features like a digital instrument console which is Bluetooth-enabled, a soft-touch switchgear and keyless ignition.
While entire details of the motor will only be revealed at the launch, Bajaj has announced that the Chetak draws power from an IP-67 certified lithium-ion battery. It comes with two riding modes- Eco and Power that offer a claimed range of 95km and 75km each. In terms of cycle parts, the Chetak rides on 12-inch alloy wheels with a single-sided suspension at both ends. Meanwhile, braking is done by a disc at the front and a drum at the rear.
Bajaj will be offering the Chetak in six colour options- black, white, silver, blue, red and gold. As for competition, the electric scooter will go up against the Okinawa i-Praise and Ather 450.
