- Harley-Davidson 338cc to be launched in June in China
- India is likely to get it by end of 2020
- Benelli’s parent company will manufacture it
It’s been a few months since Harley-Davidson revealed details and pictures of its most affordable bike. But it looks like we might have something concrete information here, thanks to a leaked presentation.
According to leaked Benelli presentation, Harley-Davidson is likely to unveil and launch its new 338cc streetbike in China in June this year. This motorcycle is being co-developed with Qianjiang – the company that owns Benelli. In fact, this Harley-Davidson will share its underpinnings with the Benelli 302S. The frame and the engine are likely to be the same. But things like the bodywork, suspension and other features will be new and developed by Harley-Davidson.
This Harley motorcycle is being developed for markets like China and India. So there’s a high chance of this bike making its way to India soon after the China launch. We believe the Indian arm of Harley Davidson will import all the parts from China and assemble it at their Gurgaon facility. Through this route, the company would be able to price this motorcycle competitively.
The Street 750 has been the highest selling model from Harley-Davidson in India. But with this new 338cc motorcycle, expect the American brand to growth quite significantly in the country, thanks to the affordability and the brand recall.
