- Hero Electric’s first motorcycle spied
- Will reportedly have a top speed of 80kmph and 120kms of battery range
- Likely to be priced around Rs 1.5 lakhs
Hero Electric is one of the few participants of the 2020 Auto Expo and the brand seems to be planning on making the most of the event. After contributing to the green revolution with five electric scooters in its portfolio until now, the brand is reportedly gearing up to introduce an electric motorcycle at the Expo. A few spy images of this upcoming Hero electric motorcycle have surfaced on the internet.
Although the motorcycle was majorly draped across its bodywork, a few parts of the bike were still visible which revealed interesting details. Firstly, it looks to have an aggressive streetbike stance with a muscular fuel tank-like panel, split seat, an upswept tail section and a single-unit wide handlebar. It was adorned with a bright red paint scheme along with red-coloured exposed sub-frame which should lend it a bold styling.
While there’s no information about its battery and motor specifications yet, it will reportedly have a range of around 120kms and a top speed of 80kmph. In the spy shots, the electric motorcycle can also be seen incorporating alloy wheels which are suspended by upside down forks and a disc brake up front and a monoshock at the rear. Furthermore, expect it to match up with the current trend in terms of features with goodies such as full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled fully-digital instrument cluster and other convenience and safety features.
Hero Electric has only targeted the affordable electric two-wheeler segment until now with its flagship scooter, the Dash being priced at Rs 63,000 (ex-showroom). However, now it will tap into the premium segment as this new electric motorcycle will reportedly be priced around Rs 1.5 lakhs. With that pricing, it will compete against the Revolt RV400 in India.
