Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Okinawa has made an announcement about receiving 450 bookings for their soon to be launched new e-scooter, the i-Praise. The company had allotted the first batch of 500 units for pre-booking for a minimum amount of Rs 5000, which is nearly complete. The company has received a good response from tier- II and tier- III markets where customers are keen on switching over to advanced technology while also being interested in the detachable battery feature.
The i-Praise is an upgraded version of the Praise e-scooter that is already on sale in the market. It features a detachable lithium-ion battery that can be conveniently charged by owners at their homes. Okinawa claims the battery can be charged in 2-3 hours and will return a range of 160 to 180 kms. The lithium-ion battery has allowed the company reduce the overall weight of the e-scooter by 4 per cent as compared to the lead-acid battery.
Powering the i-Praise will be a 1000 Watt, BLDC electric motor that is capable of achieving a top speed of 75kmph. Okinawa will be officially launching the i-Praise towards the end of January.
