- BS6 Suzuki Burgman Street 125 unveiled
- New MotoGP edition sports Suzuki Ecstar decals
- Price to be announced by the end of this month
Suzuki has unveiled the new BS6-compliant version of its maxi scooter, the Burgman Street 125, at the 2020 Auto Expo. Interestingly, Suzuki has also taken the wraps off the MotoGP edition of the scooter. Notably, prices for both the variants of the scooter will be revealed by the end of this month.
While the overall styling of the Burgman Street 125 has been retained, the new matte finished red colour looks fresh and appealing. Further eye-catchy is the MotoGP edition which is adorned with Suzuki Ecstar decals across its bodywork, similar to the MotoGP versions of the Gixxer SF 155 and SF 250. In terms of features, the only new addition in the maxi scooter is the engine start-stop switch.
Powering the Burgman Street is a 124cc, air-cooled motor which now gets fuel-injection to comply with the BS6 emission norms. The revisions have resulted in minor changes in its performance. While it continues to produce 8.6bhp, the power comes in early at 6750rpm. Meanwhile, the torque figure has gone down by 0.2Nm at 10.2Nm and it comes in 500rpm later at 5,500rpm. The scooter remains unchanged in terms of hardware comprising of telescopic forks and monoshock along with disc brake up front and a drum at the rear.
In terms of competition, it goes up against the Hero Maestro Edge 125 Fi, Honda Grazia, TVS Ntorq 125 and the Aprilia SR 125.
