- BS6 Bajaj Avenger Street 160, Street 220, Cruise 220 prices revealed
- Receive a price hike of up to Rs 11,500
- A majority of dealers have started accepting bookings
With the BS6 deadline fast approaching, Bajaj has started dispatching its BS6 complaint models in India. While the company is yet to make an official announcement, BS6 models of the Avenger line-up including the Street 160, Street 220 and the Cruise 220 have started reaching dealerships. Notably, our dealer sources have also revealed the prices of the motorcycles.
Starting with the Avenger Street 160, the BS6 model of the smaller cruiser has been priced at Rs 89,536 which is a premium of around Rs 7,000 over its BS4 model. As for the Street 220 and Cruise 220, both bikes now cost Rs 1,15,456 which is a hike of around Rs 11,500 over the outgoing model (all prices are ex-showroom, Pune).
While both bikes retain the same displacement, the carbureted set up has been replaced with fuel-injection, as it is needed for BS6 compliance. Although the power figures of the revised motor have not been revealed yet, they might marginally vary as compared to the BS4 version of the engine. The smaller sibling churns out 14.8bhp and 13.5Nm from its BS4 160cc, carbureted motor while the larger version makes 19bhp and 17.5Nm from its 220cc, carbureted mill.
Besides the revisions on the engine, whether the Avenger models have received feature updates remains unclear as of now. In terms of competition, the Avenger 160 goes up against the Suzuki Intruder 150 while the 220cc versions don’t have any direct rivals in India.
