- The prototype bike was equipped with inverted telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock and petal-type disc brakes
- Launch details are yet to be revealed
Hero MotoCorp announced the launch of the BS6 compliant Glamour and the Passion Pro. The two-wheeler brand also showcased two new models – Xtreme 160R and a prototype ADV motorcycle at the same event.
The prototype motorcycle was partially covered, and the company had kept the sub-frame under wraps. The primary frame will be a tubular trellis unit that will use the engine as the stressed member. Shock absorption hardware comprises of inverted telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock. Braking department included petal-type disc brakes with ByBre-sourced callipers on both wheels. The off-road focused setup also comprises a 21-inch front/17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels wrapped in block-pattern tyres.
The engine displacement details are unavailable, although it will range between 300-350cc. The motor will feature a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled layout and it should deliver healthy power and torque output numbers. The ADV motorcycle will benefit from the company’s Dakar experience.
Considering the competition in the sub-500cc segment, it is safe to assume that the production-spec model will arrive with LED lighting and a Bluetooth-enabled full-digital display. The instrument cluster on the Hero XPulse 200 already packs turn-by-turn navigation system as standard, and a similar setup could arrive on the upcoming ADV model. The newly launched Hero Connect could also be part of the package.
The sub-500cc ADV motorcycle from Hero MotoCorp should arrive at competitive prices. The vehicle will compete against the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 390 Adventure and the BMW G310GS.
