Hero MotoCorp hosted a grand event recently to introduce a host of new products. One of these was the new Passion Pro BS6 commuter motorcycle. The updated model now demands up to Rs 12,000 premium over its BS4 version. And to justify that, Hero has given a host of updates to the Passion Pro. For those who are planning to buy it, here are the top five highlights of the new model.
Sportier styling
Hero has given a major design makeover to the Passion Pro. It gets a larger headlamp assembly with a restyled bikini fairing, more muscular fuel tank with angular extensions, a sleek tail section with a new inverted V-shaped tail lamp. Adding to its overall appeal are fancier decals across its body panels.
Fuel-injected engine
As it is necessary for compliance with new BS6 emission norms, Hero has updated the 110cc engine of the Passion Pro with fuel-injection, in place of carburetor. The reworked powerplant now churns out 9.02bhp at 7,500rpm and 9.79Nm at 5,000rpm which is a marginal difference as compared to its BS4 derivative.
Tweaked hardware
For better handling and ride quality, the new Passion Pro is underpinned by a diamond frame, as opposed to the previous double cradle chassis. It also gets slightly higher ground clearance and longer travel for the front and rear suspension for a more seamless ride through undulations.
Added features
The semi-digital instrument cluster of the Passion has been updated and now it shows real-time fuel efficiency, apart from the basic information. Hero has also brought an interesting feature called ‘Auto Sail’ which assists in smooth slow speed riding in traffic.
Price
The BS6 Hero Passion Pro continues to be available in two variants – drum brakes and front disc brake which are priced at Rs 64,990 and Rs 67,190, respectively (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). This is hike of around Rs 8,000 and Rs 12,000 over their respective BS4 counterparts.
