- Unofficial booking open at select dealerships
- BS6 bikes yet to reach dealerships
- BS6 model features oil-cooled engine
Select Hero MotoCorp dealerships have commenced the pre-bookings for the BS6 complaint XPulse 200 ahead of its launch. Hero MotoCorp is yet to announce the launch and availability details for the XPulse 200 BS6.
The Hero XPulse 200 BS6 is yet to arrive at the dealerships, although we saw the motorcycle last month. The styling cues on the BS6 model will be similar to the outgoing version and the motorcycle will carry features such as a LED headlight, Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, dual-purpose tyres and a tall-set exhaust.
Hardware specifications, too, will remain similar to the BS4 motorcycle, and the Hero XPulse 200 BS6 will continue to use telescopic front forks with 190mm of travel and a rear mono-shock with 170mm of travel to perform the shock absorption tasks. Anchoring power will come from a 276mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear while the safety net will include a single-channel ABS.
While the styling and hardware will be similar to the outgoing model, the BS6 compliant XPulse 200 will feature a few changes to the engine. The BS6 iteration of the motorcycle will feature a rerouted exhaust pipe to accommodate a larger catalytic converter. The company has also added an oil-cooler to the BS6 model. The BS4 motorcycle, for reference, used an air-cooled motor. The power and torque output figures are not available yet, although we do not expect to see a major change in numbers over the BS4 model. The outgoing version of Hero MotoCorp’s ADV (fuel injected variant) produced 18.1bhp at 8,000rpm and 17.1Nm at 6,500rpm.
The BS4 compliant fuel-injected variant of the Hero XPulse was priced at Rs 1.06 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). We expect to see a Rs 3,000-6,000 price increase on the ex-showroom tag during the BS6 transition.
