- Leaked brochure reveals Gixxer 250 specs
- Gets slightly lesser power and torque
- To be priced at 1.65 lakhs
Suzuki is set to launch the Gixxer 250 BS6 in India sometime soon. However, before its official launch, a leaked brochure has revealed the specifications of the motorcycle.
The Gixxer 250 will come powered by the same 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled motor that comes with fuel-injection. Nevertheless, Suzuki has made changes to the motor to make it BS6 compliant. While power remains the same at 26.1bhp, it comes in at 9300rpm; 300rpm later than the BS4 model. On the other hand, peak torque on the BS6 Suzuki Gixxer 250 has gone down by 0.4Nm to 22.2Nm. The engine continues to be mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Apart from mechanical changes, the BS6 version of the Gixxer 250 remains the same. It continues to get LED lighting for the headlamp and tail lamp along with features like a dual-channel ABS, digital instrument cluster and aluminum-finished alloy wheels.
Our dealer sources have revealed that the Gixxer 250 will cost Rs 1.65 lakhs (ex-showroom) when launched in the country. It will directly compete against the Bajaj Dominar 250 and the Yamaha FZ25 here.
