Hero Motocorp has listed the Xtreme 160R on its official website suggesting that the motorcycle will be launched in India soon. While it was supposed to be here by end of March, we can expect a slight delay as the manufacturer has halted production due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Xtreme 160R sports an aggressive streetfigher styling with its full-LED headlamp, beefy fuel tank, edgy tank extensions and sleek rear section. Moreover, Hero has equipped the motorcycle with full-LED lighting for the tail lamp as well as turn signals. The Xtreme 160R also boasts of a full-digital display.
Powering the motorcycle is a 160cc, air-cooled and fuel-injected engine that puts out 15bhp at 8,500rpm and 14Nm at 6,500rpm. Hero is offering the Xtreme 160R with single-channel ABS and an option of drum or disc at the rear. Meanwhile, 37mm telescopic forks upfront sourced from Showa and a monoshock at the rear take care of suspension duties.
It will be available in three colour options- red, white and blue and is likely to come with a starting price of Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom). In terms of competition, the motorcycle will take on the Suzuki Gixxer, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and the Yamaha FZ V3 in the country.
