Suzuki Motorcycle Corporation has launched the made-in-India Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250 in the Japanese market. The fully-faired version is priced at 481,800 yen or Rs 3.30 lakh while the naked roadster is available at 448,800 yen or Rs 3.07 lakh.
Both models are identical to the quarter-litre motorcycles that are sold in India. Thus, the feature list on the Japan-bound Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 includes LED headlight, an LED taillight, digital instrument cluster, chrome tip for the muffler, split seats and a two-piece pillion grabrail.
Colour options for the fully-faired model include Matt Platinum Silver Metallic, Matte Black Metallic and MotoGP Edition in Triton Blue Metallic. The naked roadster, on the other hand, is available in two colours – Matte Black Metallic and the dual-tone Matt Platinum Silver Metallic with Matt Black Metallic.
Mechanical specifications include a 249cc, single-cylinder engine with Suzuki Oil Cooling System. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor produces 25.4bhp of power and 22Nm of torque. The engine complies with Japan’s 2016 domestic emission regulations.
Shock absorption duties are handled by 41mm front forks and a seven-step adjustable rear mono-shock. Anchoring department comprises of a 300mm disc at the front and a 220mm rotor at the back while the safety net is provided by dual-channel ABS as standard.
