- Price and availability details of FZ 25 series yet to be announced
Yamaha has updated its website, and several motorcycles have been removed from its India portfolio. Responding to a query, the company shared the list of models that have been discontinued from the Indian market. As per the list, Yamaha has discontinued the YZF-R3 (321cc), Fazer 25 (249cc), Saluto (125cc) and Saluto RX (110cc) from the Indian market. The company’s BS6-compliant motorcycle portfolio comprises:
- YZF-R15 V3.0 (155cc)
- MT-15 (155cc)
- FZ-S FI (149cc)
- FZ FI (149cc)
- FZ 25 (249cc)
- FZS 25 (249cc)
Yamaha Motor India’s BS6 scooter range includes three models:
- RayZR 125 FI
- RayZR Street Rally 125 FI
- Fascino 125 FI
The FZ25 is not listed (at the time of writing this report) on the company’s website yet but it should be updated soon.
While Saluto series and the Fazer 25 will not return to the Indian market, we may see the updated YZF-R3 on our shores in 2021. Manufacturers in Europe can continue to sell Euro4 (equivalent of BS4 standards) versions of their existing models until January 2021. Thus, the updated, Euro5-compliant YZF-R3 should debut in late-2020, and we may see the new model in the Indian market in 2021.
