- Hero Xpulse 200T, Xtreme 200S and Xtreme 200R removed from website
- Could be a temporary discontinuation until the launch of their BS6 models
- Suspension of retail and production could be a reason for delay in launch
Hero MotoCorp has removed its 200cc offerings including the Xpulse 200T, Xtreme 200R and Xtreme 200S from its official website. This could be a temporary discontinuation of the BS4 models, until the manufacturer introduces the updated BS6 models of these bikes and features them on the official website.
As we know, most of the bike makers including Hero have shut down their retail and production operations in order to suppress the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus. This could be the prime reason for the delay in launch of these three motorcycles. Hero might soon launch the BS6 Xtreme 200R, Xtreme 200S and the Xpulse 200T in India.
These three motorcycles belong to Hero’s ‘X’ family which share the same engine with slightly different cycle parts. The Xtreme 200R is naked street bike while the 200S is its fully-faired sibling. Meanwhile, the XPulse 200T is the touring-oriented model of the XPulse 200 adventure motorcycle. Powering the bikes is a common 199.6cc, air-cooled, carbureted motor which produces 18.1bhp and 17.1Nm. The BS6 iterations will have a fuel-injector in place of the carburetor.
The Xpulse 200T and Xtreme 200S both get full-LED headlamp along with LED DRL. The instrument cluster is also fully-digital which comes with Bluetooth-connectivity for smartphone pairing and accessing navigation and alerts for calls and message. On the other hand, the Xtreme 200R does away with a conventional headlamp with LED position lamps and a semi-digital instrument cluster.
Being the most affordable model of the three, the Hero Xtreme 200R costs Rs 93,400. The Xtreme 200S and Xpulse 200T are comparatively expensive at Rs 1.02 lakh and Rs 96,500, respectively (all prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai). The BS6 models will carry a mild premium over these prices.
