TVS Motor Company has launched the updated model of its 110cc commuter offering, the Radeon BS6. If you’re planning to buy the motorcycle as soon as the lockdown ends, here are five things you need to know about it.
Fuel-injected engine
The updated Radeon is powered by the same 109.7cc, air-cooled motor but it has received fuel-injection, in place of the previous carbureted setup. This has resulted in a marginal drop in its power which is down from 8.2bhp to 8.08bhp. However, the torque output remains unchanged at 8.7Nm.
More mileage
As we know, a fuel-injected motor is more fuel-efficient as compared to a carbureted mill due to more controlled and precise fuelling. While the Radeon already has a frugal engine, the company claims that the BS6 model delivers 15 per cent more mileage than its BS4 counterpart.
Increased weight
Following the technical changes related to compliance with BS6 norms, such as inclusion of a fuel-injector and a larger catalytic converter, the Radeon has witnessed a hike of 4kgs in its kerb weight. The drum variant now weighs 116kgs and the disc model tips the scales at 118kgs.
Eight colour options
The TVS Radeon comes in as many as eight colour options. While the standard variant can be had in white, black, beige, purple, red and grey paint schemes, the special edition trim is available in options of black and brown paint jobs.
Price hike
Owing to the BS6-bound updates, the prices of the TVS Radeon have witnessed an increment of up to Rs 8,632. Now, the standard trim of the bike costs Rs 58,992 while the special edition drum and disc versions carry a price tag of Rs 61,992 and Rs 64,992, respectively (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
