- BS4 vehicles removed from India website
- Webpage currently lists three scooters
- ‘Super Bikes’ tab continues to display old models
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has removed several motorcycles and scooters from its website. The list of scooters that are missing from the India website includes the Activa i, Grazia, Aviator and the Cliq. This, however, does not mean that all the aforementioned vehicles have been discontinued. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India will update its website as and when it launches BS6 products.
Select models may get discontinued during the BS6 transition, and the Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler arm may axe a few vehicles that did not deliver promising sales performance. Thus, products such as the Activa i, Aviator and the Cliq may not return to the Indian market. Honda may also discontinue the Navi.
The Grazia, on the other hand, is a relatively fresh product and we may see it in the BS6 guise. The Grazia represents the brand against the likes of TVS Ntorq 125, Hero Maestro Edge 125 and the Suzuki Burgman Street in the premium 125cc segment. The company would not want to leave a void in its portfolio and miss out on the action in the premium 125cc space.
Meanwhile, the Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has listed three products under the ‘Scooters’ tab on its website – Dio, Activa 6G and the Activa 125. All these vehicles comply with the BS6 emission norms.
In other updates, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has said that it will buy back the unsold BS4 vehicles that are lying unsold with few dealers (Honda Exclusive Authorized Dealer). The company will also bear the interest cost of the inventory of the BS6 vehicle (physical and transit) at all its dealerships for the entire 21-day lockdown period.
