- Warranty validity extended until 30 June 2020
- Several events postponed due to the lockdown
- Production temporarily suspended
Kawasaki India has announced that it will be extending the warranty on vehicles that are getting over between 1 March 2020 and 30 April 2020. The Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler brand will extend the warranty until 30 June 2020. The initiative aims to ensure that the customers do not miss out on benefits due to the lockdown in the country to control the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
The company had previously announced that the production activities have been temporarily suspended from 1 April 2020 and 14 April 2020. The Government of India has extended the lockdown further (until 3 May 2020), and this may result in a longer suspension of production. Do note that Kawasaki India is yet to make an official announcement on the matter.
In other updates, the company has postponed several events in the Indian as well as the international markets. The Indonesia launch of the new Ninja ZX-25R, for example, was scheduled to happen on 4 April 2020. The event, however, was postponed due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. In India, the company plans to launch the updated iterations of the Ninja 650 and the Z 650. Both motorcycles are listed as ‘Coming Soon’ on the company’s website.
