- Bajaj Pulsar 125 BS6 launched in India
- Gets a price hike of up to Rs 7,500 over the BS4 model
- Power figures have remained nearly the same
Bajaj Auto has launched the BS6-compliant version of the Pulsar 125 in India. The smallest Pulsar now costs Rs 67,997 (drum brake) and Rs 74,118 (front disc) which is a hike of up to Rs 7,500 as compared to their BS4 counterparts. The BS4 Pulsar 125 was priced at Rs 63,616 and Rs 66,618 for drum brake and front disc variants, respectively (all prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi).
As we had reported last month, the Pulsar 125 BS6 has witnessed a negligible drop in its power output while the torque figure has remained unchanged. Its 124.4cc, air-cooled engine now gets fuel-injection, as opposed to the previous carbureted setup. The performance numbers stand at 11.6hbp at 11Nm. While the former is down by 0.2bhp, the latter is the same as before. Transmission duties continue to be handled by a five-speed gearbox.
Besides the aforementioned changes, the Bajaj Pulsar 125 BS6 is the same as its BS4 iteration. The styling of the motorcycle is identical to its larger 150cc sibling with a bold front end, muscular fuel tank and a sharp tail section. It gets halogen-type headlamp with two pilot lamps, LED tail lamp and a semi-digital instrument cluster.
Suspension setup incorporates telescopic forks and gas-charged dual shock absorbers. For braking, the rear gets a drum while the front comes with an option of a drum and disc, assisted by CBS (combined braking system). Despite the BS6-bound changes in the engine, the 140kg kerb weight is the same as before.
The Bajaj Pulsar 125 BS6 is available in three colour options – Neon Blue, Solar Red and Platinum Silver. It faces competition from the likes of the Honda SP 125 and the Hero Glamour i3S.
