- Yamaha FZ 25 BS6 and FZS 25 BS6 to be launched soon
- Gets cosmetic changes
- Could get a price hike of around Rs 10,000
Yamaha is set to launch the FZ 25 BS6 and FZS 25 BS6 in India soon and has already listed the two motorcycles on its official website.
The BS6-compliant FZ 25 and FZS 25, unveiled in February, get cosmetic changes as well as new features as part of the update. While the motorcycles retain the styling silhouette of the previous model, they now sport sharper tank shrouds with faux air intakes, and a new fascia thanks to the aggressive-looking full-LED headlamp.
The FZS 25 additionally offers knuckle guards and taller windscreen as standard. Further differentiating the two models are the colour schemes. While the FZ 25 will be available in Racing Blue and Metallic Black, the FZS 25 is offered in Dark Matte Blue, Dark Cyan, and Metallic White with gold-finished wheels.
Moreover, both motorcycles get a new negative LCD instrument cluster, an engine cowl, and side-stand cut off switch for extra safety. Powering the new FZ 25 and FZS 25 is the same 249cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor with fuel injection. The engine puts out 20.5bhp of power at 8,000rpm and 20.1Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. As for suspension and braking hardware, the two motorcycles remain the same as the outgoing model.
Yamaha hasn’t revealed the pricing of the FZ 25 BS6 or FZS 25 BS6 yet. However, we expect the motorcycles to cost a premium of Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 over the earlier model which was priced at Rs 1.33 lakh (ex-showroom).
