Bajaj Auto has announced that it has commenced the process of reopening its dealerships and service centres in various parts of the country from the 4 May 2020. The company added in its press statement that the dealerships have taken permission from the respective local authorities before reopening the outlets.
The dealerships will follow protocols to ensure the safety of customers and dealer staff. The outlets, for example, have been sanitised before restart. The employees will follow social distancing protocols. The dealerships will also undertake mandatory thermal screening and regular monitoring of employees.
Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto said that the company has prioritised commencement of workshops to ensure that the vehicle service requirements of all its existing customers are met.
Previously, Bajaj Auto had extended the free services and warranty validity to ensure that the customers do not miss the benefits. The company clocked zero-unit sales in the local markets in April 2020 due to the country-wide lockdown. During the same period, Bajaj Auto exported 32,009 two-wheelers.
