BMW Motorrad has launched the F 900 R in India with a price tag of Rs 9.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The motorcycle draws styling inspiration from its bigger, ‘Roadster’ family sibling- the R 1250 R. So it gets a flat, full-LED headlamp, a muscular fuel tank with edgy tank extensions. The stubby tail section and uniquely-styled exhaust complete its visual appeal. As for its riding position, the F 900 R offers a slightly aggressive riding positions thanks to the straight handlebar and slightly rear-seat footpegs.
In terms of features, the motorcycle comes with a 6.5-inch, Bluetooth-enabled TFT instrument cluster, ABS, two riding modes- Rain and Road along with Automatic Stability Control as standard. However, you can also opt for the Ride Modes Pro package that gives access to more features such as cornering ABS, Dynamic Traction Control (DCT), and two additional riding modes.
Powering the BMW F 900 R is an 895cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 99bhp at 8,500rpm and 90.08Nm at 6,500rpm. It comes paired to a six-speed gearbox and can be fitted with a bi-directional quick shifter which is offered as an accessory.
The F 900 R is available in two colours- Blackstorm Metallic and Style Sport in Hockenheim Silver Metallic/Racing Red. As for competition, the streetfighter goes up against the KTM 790 Duke, Ducati Monster 821, Kawasaki Z900, and Yamaha MT-09 in the country. The bookings for the BMW F 900 R have commenced today and deliveries are expected to take place across the country soon.
