Honda Livo BS6 India launch: What to expect?

Honda has confirmed that it will soon launch the BS6-compliant Livo in the Indian market. The company recently posted a teaser video of the upcoming motorcycle. Here we tell you what to expect from the upcoming commuter motorcycle from the Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler brand.

Design

The design is not likely to receive a major upgrade, and the upcoming Honda Livo BS6 is expected to carry forward the styling of the BS4 motorcycle. Honda will, however, integrate a few tweaks to the BS6 version. The front cowl, for example, will feature a revised design. The taillight, too, has received styling upgrades, and the new unit on the BS6 version is noticeably sleeker than its predecessor.

The instrument cluster, gets a revised design, although it continues to use a semi-digital layout, featuring an analogue speedometer. Honda has also added its updated switchgear to the Livo BS6, and the new model features an engine start/stop switch.

Engine

The upcoming model should retain the 109.19cc of displacement to compete in the 110cc two-wheeler segment of the Indian market. The single-cylinder, air-cooled motor on the BS4-compliant Honda Livo was tuned to produce 8.2bhp of maximum power at 7,500rpm and 8.6Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. Expect to see similar numbers from the BS6-compliant engine.

Hardware

The hardware specifications are not likely to change. Thus, expect the suspension setup on the upcoming Honda Live BS6 to comprise of telescopic forks at the front and twin-sided springs at the back. The anchoring setup on the base model will include drum brakes on both wheels while a front disc will be available on the premium variant.

Price

The BS4-compliant Honda Livo was available from Rs 56,230 onwards. The new model will carry a price premium over its predecessor, and we expect the Honda Livo BS6 to arrive closer to Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom) price tag.

(Prices mentioned above are ex-showroom Delhi)
